Life has a way of sweeping us up in its constant hum. Meetings, deadlines, messages, family, the latest headlines—some days it feels like there’s no off switch. In the middle of it all, it’s easy to forget the simplest truth: you’re human. Not a machine, not a never-ending to-do list—just a person, with breath, heart, and a deep need to pause.
This month, we're exploring what it looks like to enhance our wellness care right now.
What we mean by this is recognizing when our usual practices may not be enough: what are the signals? How do we prioritize an increase when it's challenging as is?
At Take a Beat with Shalonda & Kym, we’ve created a gentle space to do exactly that. Every month, we gather to remember what so many of us forget in our daily rush: stillness is not wasted time—it’s the fuel that keeps us going.
Join us online for our July session on Wednesday, July 30 at Noon Pacific; 3p Eastern.
In this 30-minute session (with the option to stay for the hour if you’d like), you’ll be guided through practical, science-backed practices that invite calm back into your day. You don’t need to show up a certain way. You don’t need to prepare or perform. Just come as you are from wherever you are —tired, energized, joyful, heavy, in the car, on a walk, at your desk, lounging —everything is welcome here.
Why pause?
Because when we slow down, even for a few moments, we remember what’s most true: we are more than our tasks and titles. We reconnect with our breath, our bodies, our communities—and with the quiet inner place that can hold us steady when life feels like too much.
This is a time to lay down the weight you’ve been carrying, if only for a little while. To be witnessed and witness others in their well-being— which matters, maybe even more than that next email or meeting.
